Second annual Spring Equinox party and travelling egg hunt today. One creek, four adults, seven kids, 75 plastic eggs, 150 chocolate candies. Those are scary numbers, now that I look at them. It’s actually a miracle that things went so beautifully: a long home video of the sun break as we walked to the creek, the swarm of the hunt, the chocolate faces, Forest’s wet jeans when he decided to cross the creek and went in up to his waist. He never mentioned the cold, even though he had dropped his coat and it was maybe 50 degrees. Do you remember those days, when the temperature didn’t matter at all compared to the thrill of running and yelling and hiding and seeking and playing? I do. I remember it. Spring.
