Roots Down, Leaves Up

It was true. Acer said Farewell yesterday. I offered him water, and stillness today, and said Thank you.

Then tonight, here, I built my own altars.

I worshiped with my art and my garden and my time.  I am working directly with the Green God, connecting my own roots.

After I left Acer, I walked down to my old altar. There was a fallen willow branch across the creek. It has begun to sprout green leaves up and red roots down. If it thrives here, it will soften the current.

It will change the land.
